DC/DC Converter XP Power serie JHM20

The JHM20 series of single and double output PCB board mount DC-DC converters featuring a reinforced insulation system with International medical safety approvals for applications in electronic medical devices. This series optimizes the cost with a reduced patient leakage current at 2.5 μA and the output voltage adjustment of ± 10%, in a new low profile format.
The 20 Watt JHM20 is available in three input ranges: 9.0 to 18VDC for 12VDC; 18 to 36VDC for 24VDC; 36 to 75VDC for 48VDC. There are three single regulated output voltages: 5; 12 & 15VDC, trimmable ±10% using an external resistor; and three fixed dual output voltages: ±5; ±12 & ±15VDC. This combination of models allows single outputs up to 30VDC along with the three dual output options.
The units offer isolation of 4.0kVAC input/output with reinforced insulation, 2 x MOPP (Means of Patient Protection) at 250VAC working voltage, and a low 2.5µA patient leakage current. Standards include: CB IEC60601-1 including risk management (medical); UL ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 & CSA C22.2 No. 60601-1 (medical); EN55011 Class A standard for conducted EMC emissions with no external components; IEC60601-1-2, EN61000-4-2,3,4,5,6,8 for EMC (with external components).
The efficiency of the JHM20 series is 89%, with a no-load input current between 3 and 11mA depending on model. Short circuit, overload & overvoltage protection is provided, together with under voltage lockout. Operating altitude is 3048m (10,000 ft). The MTBF is greater than one million hours (MIL-HDBK-217F, +25°C GB).
Packaged in non-conductive UL94V-0 black plastic PCB mount case which measures 2.00” x 1.00” x 0.40” (50.8 x 25.4 x 10.2mm). The convection cooled converters have a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C, with full power available to +60°C (see datasheet for derating curve).
The JHM20 PCB mount DC-DC converters for medical applications are suitable for low power medical applications where there is a requirement for a DC-DC converter to provide a reinforced isolation barrier in patient contact or patient vicinity applications.
